Arina Shabanova is a multidiciplinary artist currently based in Moscow, who is co-running brand Galka. She splits her time between commercial work and personal projects that include from illustration to moving image, from painting to textile.

In her artistic practice, Arina Shabanova works with the theme of personal mythology. Inspired by the methods of alternative medicine, bodily practices, the study of the possibilities of the human body and consciousness, the artist explores various resource states through active interaction with nature and observation of the surrounding world. Using found materials, mainly stones and twigs and tree trunks thrown ashore, Shabanova creates characters-mediators, guides to the world of the inhuman, who find their place in her painting, drawing, animation, and small sculptures. Sticks, tree branches, chestnuts easily fold into a complete figure, but there is a feeling that all this can fall apart and lie on the grass if we turn away.
